GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND REBATES
Both the Provincial and Federal Governments are also offering grants and rebates to homeowners for eligible renovations. To qualify for ecoENERGY incentives you must get a home energy assessment before and after your upgrades. You can apply for federal ecoENERGY grants once per house. This provides an opportunity to complete as many upgrades as possible within an 18 month eligibility period. You will receive grants for improvements started after your first assessment. All improvements or renovations must meet local codes and by-laws. We recommend you document your renovations with receipts, photos and product literature to be sure you get full credit for all improvements. You can get up to $5,000 in home improvement grants through the Canadian government’s ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program.
Ontario Home Energy rebates — Double your money with matching rebates from the Ontario government. Ontario’s Home Energy Audit program matches dollar for dollar up to $5,000 from the Canadian government — for a total of up to $10,000.
