Please call HSA any time to ask a question about your home. We work with expert trades people every day. If we can’t answer your question we will find some who can!
Frequently asked questions:
If I need 2 different jobs done will the same tradesman do both?
We will discuss what your jobs are, and if needed visit your home, to help determine what types of trades people you need. Sometimes one handyman can do it all, sometimes it is more economical to have 2 experts who can work faster and carry parts with them.
I’m moving to Oakville and need a quote to update my new home. How do I get prices?
We would be happy to meet at your new home and quote any renovations you have in mind. From roofing to gardening to painting we can provide a written quote, and ideas about future renovations for budget purposes.
If my basement leaks and I want to build a family room there what can be done?
After doing a water test to locate the leak we can do either an interior injection or exterior excavation to repair leaks. Both carry a substantial warranty and the warranty is transferable is you sell the home.
How long will it take to complete my renovation?
Generally a basement takes about 5 weeks, a kitchen about 3 weeks, and a bathroom about 1 week.
The power is out in the upstairs bathroom. Do I need an electrician?
First try resetting the GFI outlet in one of the other bathrooms (usually the powder room) if that doesn’t work you will need an electrician to find a short circuit.
My garage door opener isn’t working, what could be wrong?
Again try resetting the outdoor GFI plugs (look on the front porch or in the back yard plug). It could also be that the photo eyes are blocked or the batteries in the car remotes need changing. We also have certified garage door technicians if it still won’t work.
My furnace or air conditioner won’t work. Can you help me?
There are lots of little maintenance tips that might save the cost of a service call. First check the filter. When was it changed last? Even in summer remember to keep the filter clean. This is the number one cause of freezing up. If you have a battery powered thermostat check that the batteries are still good. In summer don’t try to cool too much too fast. If you still have trouble give us a call. And when you have regular maintenance and cleaning done remember to ask questions! A good technician is there to help you keep warm all winter!
